Anémona Editores invited the author to work in collaboration, from which the “El origen de la luz” (the origin of light) project emerged, initially conceived as a serigraphy. The author mentions that “the occasion seemed ideal for me to explore one of the principles of self-perception and self-awareness in space, through compositional games and subtle changes of color." To create the effect of depth, this work, composed of a single graphic plane, took advantage of the technique of inks applied in a uniform and almost minimalist way. Furthermore, the shadow itself as a gesture of self-knowledge refers to the fundamental principle of the trace of prehistoric painting. The particular aspects of these ideas are reinforced by the colors chosen; for example, black appears as an allegory of the cave, where light and shadow are fundamental. On the other hand, yellow brings us closer to the experience of brightness and illumination, while vermilion red reminds us of the pigments used on cave walls in rupestrian paintings.
